Vincent – Ok, let’s go! I’m Vincent, CTO & cofounder of EvidenZ.io & BCdiploma.com

Luc jarry – I’m Luc, cofounder and CEO of BCdiploma/EvidenZ.

Vincent – We’ve build with our team a blockchain based document certification solution, live in production since early 2019. EvidenZ is the framework of the solution, and first use case, dedicated to academics, is BCdiploma. Now, EvidenZ and BCdiploma are deployed in more than 90 institutions in twelve countries with the following use cases: diploma, academic and continuing education certificate, certified open badge of proficiency, notarial certificate, ISO certificate. BCdiploma, currently supported by Agoranov, is a an alumni of Station F & emlyon business school accelerators, and UC Berkeley Blockchain Accelerator 😊

Luc Jarry – With @vince_hfr, we have been working for many years in the field of IT for academics. During this experience, institutions were faced with the problem of storing and securing certifications on a very long term basis. With the emergence of Ethereum, we made specifications and then an ICO to develop EvidenZ and start the commercialization of BCdiploma. And here we are!

Q1. What is BCDiploma? What is its real use case in the ecosystem and how is it linked to the Microsoft for Startups program? Are these certifications endorsed and approved globally?

Luc Jarry – Our framework is EvidenZ.io: a blockchain based data certification solution, live in production since early 2019. First use case, dedicated to academics is BCdiploma.com. The issuer of certificates (a university for example), has a DApp and APIs. This issuer certifies their certificates on the blockchain by simply sending data. The DApp generates a unique and forgery-proof url link that is delivered to the holder of the certificate (the graduate for example). Vincent – This is a real use case: thanks to BCdiploma, universities, ISO certifiers etc. use Ethereum and provide blockchain certificates to the general public. We are very proud of this. Microsoft for Startups program selected us as soon as we filed our patent in the US (2018). We performed well during this program, since February 2020 we have the Microsoft Co-sell status. Luc Jarry – We have obtained IMS Global (US) product certification a few month ago

We are referenced by the purchasing group of the French Ministry of Higher Education (Groupe Logiciel), and work with the French team of the European Blockchain Partnership (European Commission).

Q2 Can you list 1-3 killer features of EvidenZ that makes it ahead of its competitors? What is the competitive advantage your platform has that you feel most confident about?

Vincent –

  • Tamper-proof on chain data storage
  • Respecting GDPR using a patented cryptographic algorithm
  • One click access to certificate for life
  • One extra feature 😉 certificates with fully customizable content and visuals allowing the institution to promote its brand with top level design.

Luc Jarry – We have several competitive advantages, such as a maximum level of data storage security thanks to a 100% blockchain technology, a team that knows the academic world very well, but we would say that the quality of the DApp (its UX and accessibility) made available to any users in institutions is our biggest strength. Q3 Can you tell us some of the latest achievements made by the @MyEvidenZ project & can you describe in detail the current development efforts, such as market expansion plans, expected partnerships & new upcoming program of events?

Luc Jarry – Here are the achievements and milestones reached by the team since its creation, an image is worth more than a long speech:

Vincent –

  • market expension: we work on the international go to market by increasing our presence in the countries in which we are already deployed (including but not limited to Canada, France, Vietnam, Tunisia…) and by prospecting new territories with high potential (USA, South Africa…)
  • partnerships: we’re working on partnerships that allow us to develop the business and the democratization of BCdiploma among institutions. A good example is the partnership with the AUF (a grouping of more than 1,000 universities worldwide), which will be announced in early September following the success of the 2019 pilot project: http://aneuf.auf.org/dineuf. We can’t say too much, but it’s a long-term (4 years) and exclusive business development agreement for us. That said, technological partnerships are also envisaged, allowing us to respond to new business use case.

Luc Jarry – Upcoming : If we set aside the AMAs scheduled in the coming weeks, the news and events around EvidenZ will be above all business focused: BCdiploma’s entry in a new geographical area, issue of 20k diplomas for a major business school or contract signed over several years for the largest French engineering school… no bullshit here, everything we write here will happen and is 100% sure, we are committed to it.

Q4 What is BCDT Tokenomics and real-world cases? What are the current difficulties EVIDENZ is facing today for BCDT MASS ADOPTION and can you lay out your plans to overcome it?

Vincent – The main use case of BCDT is the certification of academic documents. BCDT is the fuel of the EvidenZ ecosystem, it is designed for B2B: for each certificate issued, an amount of BCDT has to feed the smart contract
Here is the token usage macro process:
1) An institution buy issuance credits to BCdiploma in FIAT => in the real world, institutions aren’t able to buy tokens by themself 😀
2) BCdiploma company buys BCDT on the market at the market price
3) We feed the evidenz smart contract with BCDT to “buy issuance credits”, 25% are burnt during this operation
4) Institution issues certificates, the number of credits decreases
5) Goto 1)

Luc Jarry – We are not encountering any major difficulties in the adoption of BCDT to date, and the reason is simple: we have built an ecosystem where the complexity of the crypto aspect is hidden from the institutions, which are aware of its existence but do not have to deal with it directly. So the challenge is the adoption of the product itself, which automatically leads to the adoption of BCDT, because it is mandatory to use them to issue certificates in the solution.

Q5 Is your platform only helpful for Crypto friendly users or non-Crypto friendly users can also use? If yes how they can use and how you will attract them to use $BCDT?

Luc Jarry – EvidenZ was designed to bring the blockchain and its crypto aspects to everyone, including and especially the non-crypto friendly. This is our biggest challenge: to offer a solution in which UX can be used on a large scale by as many people as possible. It begins by offering to our customers with a stable, high-performance, state-of-the-art UX solution for maximum adoption.

Vincent – The certificates generated by the Dapp are easy to access and focused on accessibility (multilingual / responsive / multidevices / WCAG compliant): with a single click, anyone can consult in real time certified data on the blockchain by interacting with a smart contract in the context of an application that is not a financial application: this is unique in the crypto world.

Luc Jarry – To sum up, the adoption of BCDT outside the crypto world boils down to the large-scale adoption of the solution, which is our main goal.

Q6. I want to ask about, why do you need to do an AMA? I am very curious to know what does EvidenZ want or go for when doing an AMA?

Vincent – The project is 3 years old, never had the exposure it deserves. We are proud to show the crypto world the huge technical and commercial development work done since 2017 👌

Q7. HIGHLIGHT the UNIQUE FEATURES of EVIDENZ if I’m to choose EVIDENZ over other COMPETITIVE PROJECTS?

Luc Jarry – Unique features are:

Custom design for each school (if desired)

Q8. How do you plan to spread awareness about your project in different countries where English is not spoken well? Do you have local communities for the them to let them better understand about your project?

Vincent – The solution is already multilingual and we already have customers who do not speak English, in France, Vietnam and Mexico. That said, a redesign of the http://BCdiploma.com website is underway and will allow us to present the solution in as many languages as necessary.

Q9. I hear that EvidenZ has collaboration with Microsoft, so could you share me which support or program that both of you are focusing?

Luc Jarry – We’re part of the Microsoft for Startups program & of the Microsoft Cosell program. We are notably on their app store and their sales team is incentivized to sell our solution: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/web-apps/blockchaincertifieddata.bcd-1

Q10. I’m a white hat hacker in internet, do you think your system is secure enough from hackers? Does your project have a program that rewards individual vulnerability detection of the system?

Vincent – Security is a fundamental element of the certification challenge and at the heart of the EvidenZ framework, which has been designed to take full advantage of the blockchain and its characteristics: durability, security and immutability. One of the key elements of this security is also EvidenZ’s encryption algorithm, based on AES256. Finally, the last pentest carried out by external team at BCdiploma did not reveal any flaws, which is exceptional for a first test.

Q11. Which area does #EvidenZ focus on at the moment? (DeFi, Stake,Dapps..)

Vincent – We focus on the product, real use cases and business. We think this is the best way to democratize the use of BCDT and the holder’s trust: by building and delivering 👌

Q12. To create the EvidenZ financial ecosystem, will there be a buyback or burning of a token supply?

Luc Jarry – As presented in Round 2, there is burning process and a buyback. The circulating supply is always available here: https://www.evidenz.io/bcdt-token.html

Q13. What is the Vision and Mission of the BCDT platform to makes $bcdt token have very high demand?

Luc Jarry – EvidenZ has been built to match with BCDT’s holders economical concerns: the total supply decreases with the use of the solution. This process ensures the long-term sustainability and autonomy of the ecosystem. About the long-term vision of marketing and the token: Today: customers pay in FIAT and are provided with tokens. The level of adoption of the blockchain by institutions is now high, however their level of adoption of cryptoactives is much lower. Even if the idea is attractive and makes sense, it seems too early to propose this kind of business line.
Tomorrow: customers who wish to do so will be able to pay directly using BCDT (in fact they can technically already do so, but they are not ready). To incite them: we are preparing a development that will allow to install the complete DApp stack on premice and to interact without our own DApp instance with the contract. Thus, we are targeting very big customers for this kind of installation (in particular for large groups and state administrations).

Q14. How will ensuring DApp and UX accessibility be advantageous for the use of institutions?

Vincent – Good question! People using the solutions in institutions are used to simple, centralized, non-technology oriented applications. We need to bring them the same simplicity in decentralized mode to make the transition possible.

Q15. DeFi is one of the hottest topic in the blockchain space right now. Can EvidenZ share your opinions on DeFi with us? Do you think that DeFi will disrupt the existing financial system?

Vincent – The DeFi is a major innovation in the Crypto sphere. The advent of Uniswap and Balancer, for example, is crucial in the development of projects such as BCDT, giving access to liquidity to as many people as possible: we are in 😉

Q16. How much legitimacy does the BCdiploma have? What are the benefits and advantages of certificates on the chain?

Luc Jarry – A little reminder: these are the institutions that issue via BCdiploma. The EvidenZ framework guarantees that the data you read on a diploma comes from the institution. It is the institution that has the legitimacy to issue certificates: BCdiploma never has access to the data. Then, there is a mass trust effect: EvidenZ is the smart contract that is the most widely used in the world today by institutions (+90).

Q17. For a project of this magnitude, incorporation and integration with existing institutions is key. Can you list some of your educational partners

Luc Jarry – Yes, it’s a priority for us. Here are our partnerships:

Q18. EVIDENZ metamorphosis is a laudable one, how have you been able to survive this longest bear market and continue building and developing cos many projects have died out in this time period

Q19. What is a micro-certification? How it’s is different from regular diploma courses?

Luc Jarry – Thanks for the question. Yes, there is a lot of communication on this subject because it is a very buoyant market, in North America for example, or in France with the reforms of continuing training in skill blocks. Micro-certification: this is a concept deployed by some universities (in particular our partner eCampusOntario https://www.ecampusontario.ca/). It is about certifying a precise and professional skill. The certification is awarded by both the university and a company. In other words: it is a professional certification on a small perimeter.

A further distinction must be made between micro-certifications and open badges, which are two separate markets. We are well positioned in both, with the release of the first 100% blockchain Open Badges.

Q20. What is your next roadmap?

Vincent – Here it is, but be warned: it changes a lot and that’s normal 🙂

Q21. Are the BCdiploma recognized internationally? It all depends on the universities? Do you plan to expand alliances with other institutions?

Luc Jarry – BCdiploma is above all an international success story: please find here all the institutions https://www.evidenz.io/issuers-list.html. For example, last week on our contactus box we had requests from Spain, Sri Lanka, Peru, Canada and Vietnam. This is why, together with the marketing and sales team, we are setting up a large inbound marketing plan: it is through our visibility on the web that institutions from all over the world find us.

Q22. Is it possible to access certificates generated by Dapp by other sources without permission? Could a security risk or vulnerability occur? What is the advantage of being WDAG compatible?

Vincent – The framework has been designed so that a certificate url can not be accessed without it has been previously disclosed, by a cryptographic protection of AES-256 type. This is the subject of our patent published in the USA in July 2020.

Q23. According to the website, EvidenZ is focused on issuing blockchain based digital credentials. So here, What advanced activities EvidenZ want to create?

Luc Jarry – Thank you for the question. We started with education because it is an obvious use case to understand. But the power of EvidenZ pushes us towards the market of large state and administrative registers. It’s a long term job, but for example, we are working with the French team of the European Blockchain Partnership.

Q24. Many project are currently experiencing a decline due to Covid-19. Will this have an impact on your business? If so, how will Evidenz team face this problem for to stay on top?

Luc Jarry – In the complicated epidemic period, we have seen an increase in demand and sales. Quite simply, we provide the service that allows a school to conduct its graduation remotely. And for an employer to receive an authentic diploma by e-mail.

Vincent – We are very pleased to present our work to the crypto community after several years of developing and marketing our solutions. We are still in the same state of mind since the birth of the project: to bring the blockchain to as many people as possible by offering a real world product in which the BCDT token is central.
